Marion Amelia Johnson, 84, died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Woodland Lodge in Fergus Falls.
Marion was born January 24, 1930 in Fergus Falls, MN to Robert and Bernice (Junkin) Norman. She was baptized and confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
Marion attended Fergus Falls schools and began nurses training at the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center, residing at the nurses’ cottage. After she worked at the State Hospital in Fergus Falls, she continued on at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND.
On September 17, 1949, she married Bill Johnson in Fargo and continued to reside there, until returning to Fergus Falls in 1980, where she has lived ever since.
Marion belonged to the Alano Club and AA, and VFW Auxiliary.
She loved to sew, decorate for Christmas (as she was known for her homemade decorations), playing cards, spending time with children, grandchildren, and having company. She always had time for people and their troubles.
Marion is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; two children, Judy and Norman; two brothers, Ronald and Donald; two daughters-in-law, Wendy and Patty Johnson; and nephew, Scott Norman.
Survivors include Marion’s four sons, Larry (Margie) Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO, David, Jim, and Allan Johnson, all of Fergus Falls; one brother, Richard (Delilah) Norman of Fergus Falls; two sisters-in-law, Val and Clarice "Kelly" Norman; five grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
