Marion Isley

Marion Isley, 95, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Broen Memorial Home. Marion was born on January 4, 1912 on a farm near Grandin, North Dakota, the daughter of Charles E. and Mary (Cochran) Hunter. She grew up in Grandin and graduated from Grandin High School in 1930. After high school she attended teachers college in Moorhead and Valley City. She taught school near Wyndmere, ND for one year. On May 16, 1932 she married Orville Isley in Sisseton, SD. She was a homemaker and wife of a farmer/rancher. The couple resided at Verona, ND and when Orville semi-retired they moved to Battle Lake, MN. After Orville retired completely from farming, they moved to Escondido, CA, where they lived for 40 years. Over the years Marion served as past president of the North Dakota Farm Bureau Auxiliary and was past matron of the Eastern Star of Oakes, ND. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville; daughter, Mary, who died as an infant, brother, Bill Hunter and sisters, Marie Kuchera and Lucille Foster. Survivors include; two daughters, Joyce (Roy) Hilde of Fergus Falls, MN and Peggy (David Benson) Nelson of Edina, MN; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and one brother, Robert (Pat) Hunter of Boulder, CO. Memorial Service: Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the Light and Life Auditorium of the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. Clergy: Chaplain Ken Austin Funeral Home: Olson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls
