Marilynn M. Lee, 86, a resident of Woodbury, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN.  She was born March 21, 1923, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Robert S. and Judith L. (Johnson) Moe. She grew up in Fergus Falls, graduating from high school in 1941. She attended the University of Minnesota, receiving her B.S. in 1949, and her Masters in Social Work in 1951.  On December 28, 1950, she married Owen M. Lee at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.  Marilynn was employed with the Wilder Foundation in St. Paul, Minnesota, from 1951 – 1988 as a social worker. She was serving as Vice-president and Division Director of Children’s and Family Services at the time of her retirement in 1988. During World War II she held a technical position with the FBI in Washington, DC for three years.  She was formerly a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Marilynn enjoyed playing piano, music, reading, and playing golf in her younger years. She especially enjoyed entertaining friends and relatives at their home on Lake Superior, near Lutsen, Minnesota. Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Judith Moe, and her stepfather, Rev. Elias Pederson; her grandparents: Charles and Mary Johnson, and Paul and Marie Moe; two stepbrothers, Reuben Pederson and Morton Pederson; and a stepsister, Henrietta Pederson Bye. Survivors include her husband, Owen M. Lee of Woodbury; a stepbrother, Luther Pederson; two stepsisters-in-law, Marian Pederson and Margret Pederson; ten nephews and nieces, and many grandnieces and nephews.
