Marilyn J. Olson, 97, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
Born on June 23, 1927 in Sheboygan, WI to Lester and Rosella (Phillips) Robertson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Federated Church in Fergus Falls. She grew up in Fergus Falls and graduated in 1945.
On March 1, 1947 Marilyn married Harold A. Olson at Federated Church in Fergus Falls. She worked at the Sears Roebuck office for 20 years and later as a Deputy at the District Court in Fergus Falls for 17 years and retired in 1986.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church has been important in her life. She taught Sunday School, Wednesday School, belonged to Ladies Aide, and helped with the VSP. She was a member of the Homemakers and the DAV Auxiliary.
Harold and Marilyn loved to square dance with the Modern Square under the calling of Lee Newton. They belonged to the Otter-Go Camping Club. She enjoyed camping and spending time with family at their cabin on Otter Tail Lake. They also enjoyed spending 17 winters in Weslaco, TX. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo at the Senior Center with her friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Lester and Rosella; her husband, Harold Olson; daughter, Barbara Grenell; baby granddaughter; brothers, Wallace, Richard, and Thomas Robertson; sister-in-law, Marie and brother-in-law, Charles Bullock; sister-in-law, Corrine Molter; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Adeline and Howard Seim.
Survivors include her children, Darryl (Karol) Olson and Michael Olson (Lori Veheng); nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
