Marilyn Jane (Wentler) Fronning, 80, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
She was born April 4, 1939, in Montevideo, MN, to Harry and Georgia (Fuller) Wentler. She graduated from Fergus Falls Senior High School in 1957. On July 2, 1961, she married Thilman Fronning in Fergus Falls.
She was employed by Victor Lundeen’s early in life. After they moved to CA, she began a career as a drafter for Orange County. After retiring from Orange County, she worked for Red Hill Lutheran Church. Marilyn was a faithful church member of Red Hill Lutheran Church in Santa Ana, CA, and Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Lake Havasa, AZ. She was very active in the choirs.
Marilyn loved to sing and dance, go camping, golfing, and bowling. She enjoyed painting pictures, knitting, crafting, was an avid walker and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim in 2013; son, Kevin in 2005; her parents, Harry and Georgia; brother, Jim (Jolene); sister, Georgene (Monie) Ferber; brothers-in-law, Maynard Fronning and Orris (Vi) Fronning; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Palmer and Mabel Fronning and special cousin, Gwen Steinbach.
She is survived by sister, Sheila Romero; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marie Fronning, Shirley (Daryl) Frigaard, Elaine (Larry) Larson, Vernyl (Cathie) Fronning, Leroy (Cindy) Fronning, Joyce (Marvin) Peterson, and Doris (Al) Neuman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
Clergy: Chaplain David Strom
Interment: Aastad Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fergus Falls
