Marie Muchow

Marie Stich Muchow, 69, a resident of Fergus Falls, was peacefully carried away by angels to the kingdom of Heaven the morning of Monday, August 3, 2009, at her home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her children.  She was born December 10, 1939, in Brandon, Minnesota, the daughter of Katherine (Koeplin) and Thomas Stich. She was the youngest of six children. In 1956 she married LeVerne Bendickson and spent the next nine years as a military wife, traveling throughout the United States and overseas. LeVerne died in 1966. Marie remarried in 1969 and moved to Fergus Falls. She worked for the State of Minnesota for 25 years, retiring in 2006. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, and very much enjoyed participating in Bible study. Marie enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching movies. We will miss her wonderful meals, treats, and holiday decorations. She was a strong, compassionate, generous and kind mother, grandmother, and friend. She worked continually to help others in need and those less fortunate than she. Her retirement years were her best, spent in the company of a wonderful host of friends, attending various events, lunches, and suppers around the area. She also greatly enjoyed the time she spent at the Senior Center. Although this is a tremendous loss, we are comforted knowing she has been reunited with her daughter, parents, sister, and brothers. May God bless her and keep her. Survivors include her five children: Cynthia (Rod) Snow, Ft. Collins, CO, Jeanne Bendickson (Butch Loomer), Fergus Falls, Pamela Sand (Steve Hedstrom), Moorhead, Daryl Muchow (Shirley Bugbee), Fergus Falls, and Dale (Wendy) Muchow, West Fargo, ND; her grandchildren and the lights of her life:   Austin and Allyssa Snow and Ethan and Noah Muchow; one brother, Vernon (Barb) Stich of Battle Lake; and many in laws, nieces and nephews, and special friends. Preceding her in death were her beloved daughter, Lori, in 1995; her parents; her sister, Elaine Barker; and three brothers, Raymond, Norbert and Thomas Stich. Visitation:    5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home  with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service and  resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
