E. Marie Cole, 78, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.

She was born May 12, 1936 to Albert A. and Frances A. (Salzwedel) Carlson in St. Paul and attended Wilson High School in St. Paul.

On April 30 she was united in marriage to Thomas Melvin Cole in St. Paul.

Marie was employed by Scott’s as a retail clerk in the fabric department. It later changed to TG&Y and finally Ben Franklin. She worked there for almost 40 years.

She was a member of the circle church group at First Lutheran Church, a homemaker’s group and various bridge groups. Marie enjoyed sewing and playing bridge but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Cole of Vista, CA, Mark Cole of Birmingham, AL, Karen Jackson of Yuma, AZ; grandchildren, Jared Grabow, Karl Grabow, Jessica McCray, Stephanie Herriott, Mikaela Jackson and Ben Jackson; great-grandchildren, Logan Grabow, Knox and Kora Grabow, Lily, Wynn and Wyatt McCray and J.P. Herriott; sister, Fran Beckjordan.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at First Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
Clergy: Reverend Saul Stensvaag
Burial: St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
