Marian H. Schiesser, 87, died June 6, 2019, at LB Broen Home, Fergus Falls.
Marian was born May 30, 1932, in Fergus Falls to Herbert and Myrtle (Hovland) Drechsel. She attended school district #208. On June 18, 1950, she married Harold Schiesser at her parents’ farm in rural Fergus Falls. Harold and Marian owned and operated a dairy farm in Orwell Township where they farmed until his death in 1983. Marian moved into Fergus Falls where she established and operated a daycare for many years. After retiring from her daycare, she was able to spend more time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marian was a member of Church of Peace United Methodist. She liked to decorate her home for all the different seasons. She also enjoyed gardening and baking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Myrtle Drechsel; husband, Harold; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter (Luellla) Schiesser and brother-in-laws, Ralph Schiesser and Oscar Fronning; sister-in-law, Frances Schiesser.
She is survived by her children, Dale (Carole) of Fergus Falls, Gary of Fergus Falls, Karen (Mark) Sjostrom of Pelican Rapids and Jeff (Rona Hoff) of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Nathan (Ashley), Justin (Ashley), and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Rhett, Natalie, Sophia and Nora; siblings, Vernon (Shirley), Herbert Jr., Duane (Marilyn), David (Gloria), Patricia Dowd, Vernell (Debbie), Carroll (Pauline); sisters-in-law, Ardis Fronning and Arlys Schiesser; brother-in-law, Charles (Shubh) Schiesser; uncle, Ernest Hovland; aunt, Junnette Hovland and numerous nieces and nephew.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2019, with a public prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, MN. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Church of Peace United Methodist, Fergus Falls, MN
