Marian A. Kubitz, 75, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the JoHanna House in Ashby and under the care of Lakeland Hospice. She was born December 2, 1934, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Arthur L. and Dagny (Furreness) Anderson. She grew up in Fergus Falls, graduating from Fergus Falls High School . On April 17, 1966, she married Gerald Kubitz in Livingston, Montana. They lived in Gardiner, Montana for two years before moving to Fergus Falls. She was employed as a rate statistician for 31 years at Otter Tail Power Company, retiring in 2000. Marian was a member of the KILO Club, 4-H, Aurdal Lutheran Church and it’s Ladies Aid, and a bowling league. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, quilting, needlework, sewing, reading, and raising and showing Jersey cattle. Preceding her in death were her parents, Arthur and Dagny; two uncles, Sophus and Julius Anderson; and two cousins, Marlene Kugler and Joslyn Anderson. Survivors include her husband, Gerald, of Fergus Falls; two daughters, Pamela (Bradley) Bice of Dalton, and Nancy (Jeffrey) Larson of Tioga, ND; a son, Jody (Laura) Kubitz of Crystal Lake, IL; four grandchildren: Tyler Larson and Abigail Larson of Tioga, and Zachary Kubitz and Matthew Kubitz of Crystal Lake, IL; an aunt, Edna Anderson; and two cousins, Lorraine Isaacson and Orville Furreness. Her family would like to give special thanks to Jerry and Joy Synstelien and staff at the JoHanna House, and Lakeland Hospice for the care they gave to Marian. There will be a public visitation from 5-7 p.m . Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at the funeral home. A private family service will be held later. Interment will be in the spring at Aurdal Lutheran Cemetery, rural Underwood. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
