Marian Lois Dolan

Marian Dolan, 89, of Fergus Falls died Thursday, February 7, 2019, at LB Broen Home, Fergus Falls.

Marian Lois Dolan was born January 31, 1930, in Velva, ND to Myron and Lydia (Schoenwald) Shook. In 1948 she graduated from Velva State Agricultural High School. On November 6, 1949, she married Robert Dolan in Velva, ND.

Marian loved entertaining and playing Bingo. She made everyone feel welcome, always announcing, “Come, come” at your arrival, offering her famous chocolate chip cookies or party mix. Her favorite place on earth was her lake cabin on Jewett Lake where she enjoyed sitting on the porch, watching the activities and claiming, “It is beautiful out here,” no matter what the weather conditions were. She was known as “smiley” by staff at the Broen Home. Marian was a member of First Lutheran church and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary.

Along with her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sister, Dolly and one grandchild.

Survivors include her children, Wayne Dolan of Reno, NV, LuAnn (Dana) Holter of Fargo, Barry (Kate) Dolan of Spring Park, MN and Dean (Kerri) Dolan of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Chad (Debbie) Dolan, Adam Dolan, Erik Holter, Maria (Charlie) Nemitz, Olivia (Jordan) Friel, Carina Dolan, Kate (Josh) Haus, Trista (Brendan) Giese, Tyler (Sarah) Crabtree; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie (Severin) Brekke and brother, Eddi (Jackie) Shook.

We are forever grateful to the staff at LB Broen Home and Hospice for the care and support they have shown during Marian’s last years with us.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Olson Funeral Home Chapel, Fergus Falls, MN
