Margaret Sund, 88, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, May 06, 2014 at the Broen Memorial Home, Fergus Falls.
Margaret was born on May 18, 1925 in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Martin and Clara (Nordlee) Staff. She grew up in Fergus Falls and was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She also attended school in Fergus Falls and graduated from Washington High School.
On November 10, 1948, she married Earl Sund at Trinity Lutheran church in Fergus Falls. Through the years, Margaret worked at Gambles, Montgomery Wards and also provided daycare in her home for many years.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, V.F.W. Auxiliary and Homemakers group. She enjoyed crafts and sewing, especially making doll clothes for her grandchildren. She also loved to play bingo, shop on QVC, traveling with Earl and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Earl; a son, David, in April of 2006 and brothers, William, Stanley and Russell.
Survivors include her; three children: Brad Sund (special friend Sandy Odegaard) of Fergus Falls, Tom (Sue) Sund of Audubon, MN, and Elizabeth (Terry) Sund Christ of Hunter, ND; seven grandchildren: Shawn Christ, Dawn (Todd) Schroeder, Kathryn (Shane) Hermanson, Amy Sund, Matthew (Erin) Sund, Angela (Bob) Johnson, and Amber Sund; nine great-grandchildren: Gage, Wyatt and Andrew Hermanson, Emily Christ, Jacob Christ, Zachary Christ, Lilli Johnson, and Lucille and Evelyn Schroeder; Shawn’s friend, Darci Klecan and her children Kaylee and Riley; sisters, Delores (Floyd) Lee of Fergus Falls and Dorothy Mae of Fergus Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls
