Margaret “Marge” Ilene Ringquist, 86, of rural Fergus Falls, died Monday, April 8, 2019, at Pioneer Cottages, Fergus Falls.
Margaret was born October 30, 1932, to Leo and Margaret (Bouressa) Marty in Morris. When she was five years old her family moved to Fergus Falls. In 1950 she graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. After graduation she began working in Fergus Falls at the State Hospital till 1957 when she became a homemaker. She later returned to work at the Regional Treatment Center until retirement.
Margaret married Rodney Ringquist October 1, 1952, in Pelican Rapids at St. Leonard Catholic Church.
Over the years Marge volunteered at the local food shelf and was a driver for social services. She was a member of the Eagles, VFW, American Legion, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and playing softball until the age 60.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark; daughter, Marci; grandson, Chris Schneider and three brothers, Gene, Harold and Leo “Sonny”.
Margaret is survived by her children, Margaret Schneider, Michael (Anita), Mary (Randy) Hustad, Marty (Lynette), Marlys (Bill) Fernholz, Matt, Maureen Garrett, Monty and Mitchell; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, James (Janice), Roger and David (Sharon); one sister, Shari (Kevin) Rosa and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2019, at Brenny Hall in Elizabeth with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the Mass at Brenny Hall.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Elizabeth, MN
