Margaret Lampy, 92, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was born was born September 8, 1915, in Watertown, SD, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Wagner) Walta. She graduated from high school in Watertown, SD, and then attended business college for one year. She worked at the U.S. Employment Office, and then the AAA office prior to her marriage. On June 27, 1946, she married Henry C. Lampy in Watertown, SD. After her marriage she moved with her husband to Fergus Falls where they started Fergus Concrete Products in 1946. She was one of the founders of Lampy Ready Mix in 1970 and worked in these businesses until her retirement in 1977. Margaret was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and served on the boards of the YMCA and the Community College. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed gardening and travel. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Henry; and her brother, Jack. Survivors include her children: Jim (Patty) Lampy of Rapid City, SD, and Mary (Dale) Velo of Fergus Falls; and two grandchildren, Jamie Velo and Megan Velo.
