MaeBelle Goudy

February 26, 1925 — August 7, 2019

MaeBelle Goudy, 94, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Sanford Broadway Palliative Care Unit in Fargo.

She was born February 26, 1925, in Wildrose, ND, to John and Blenda (Kron) Anderson. She attended country grade school in Elmgren by Appam, ND, graduated from Alamo High School, and attended Bethel College in St. Paul. She worked as a dental assistant in Williston, was a proofreader for the Williston Herald, a nursing assistant at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls, and 19 years at Park Region Telephone in Underwood.

On August 4, 1946, she married John Goudy at First Baptist Church in Williston, ND. They farmed near Trenton, ND, moving to Williston because of the Garrison Dam Project. In 1964 they moved to Underwood, MN, where they bought and operated a dairy farm. This farm on Bass Lake holds sweet and wonderful memories for many family get-togethers. John and MaeBelle moved to Fergus Falls in 1998.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, aka CrossRoads Church for the past 54 years; where she served as organist, Sunday School teacher, youth group leader, and AWANA. She served as President and member of the Underwood Study Club, a member of the Underwood American Legion Auxiliary, and also a volunteer at Lake Region Hospital and auxiliary member.

Preceding her in death were her husband in 2008, parents and six siblings.

Survivors include her children, John Keith (LaDoris) Goudy of Tucson, AZ, Donna (William) Ferrin of Merrimack, NH, Carol (Steve) Brimhall of Otter Tail Lake, and Connie (Robert) Duffett of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Michelle (Russell) Olmstead of Mesa, AZ, Marcia (Eric) Dufern of Scottsdale, AZ, Michael (Danielle) Ferrin of Ashburn, VA, Stephanie Grimont of Merrimack, NH, Matthew (Carrie) Brimhall of Fergus Falls, Jessica Daniels of Fergus Falls, Benjamin (Erin) Brimhall of Fergus Falls, David (Samantha) Duffett of Orlando, FL, and Allison (Dillon) Goodell of Fairfax, VA; great-grandchildren, Aaron (Chante) Olmstead, Jordan Olmstead, RJ Olmstead, Carson and Cameron Dufern, Ella, Andrew, Anna, and Ryan Ferrin, Flora and Henry Grimont, Jakob, Gabrielle, and Maddison Brimhall, Isaac and Olivia Daniels, Liam, Marlowe, and Eva Mae Brimhall, and John Duffett; great-great grandchildren, Inayah Olmstead and Eva Felix; step-grandchildren, Cindy Elkin and Marvin (Janina) Elkin; step-grandchildren, Crystal Elkin, Zoe and Conner Elkin, and step-great-great-grandchild, Christopher Phillips. Also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to Samaritan’s Purse, Salvation Army, Young Life or donor’s choice.

Visitation: One-hour prior to service at the church
Service: 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at CrossRoads Church in Fergus Falls
Clergy: Reverend Doctor Robert Duffett
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls
