Mae L. Youngberg, 88, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, September 2, 2010, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. Mae was born on May 23, 1922 in rural Fergus Falls, the daughter of Karl and Clara (Anderson) Hanson. She married Carl Youngberg on June 6, 1942 in Fergus Falls. After their marriage, the couple purchased a farm in Buse Township, where they lived all their life, until they entered the Broen Memorial Home in December of 1998. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fergus Falls. During her life she was always active in her church, including teaching 3rd grade Sunday school, and participating in Wycliff neighborhood bible studies. Her deep faith was always an integral part of her life. She was also a member of the homemakers group. Mae enjoyed baking, canning, gardening, raising her chickens, and loved her family. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carl, who died in February of 1999; four brothers: Conrad, Harold, Vernon and Norman; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Youngberg. Survivors include three children, Dennis (Esther) Youngberg of Fergus Falls, Nancy (Fred) Hahn of Wendell, and David (Charlotte) Youngberg of Fergus Falls; six grandchildren, Amy (Marshall) Langemo, Jordan Thompson, Amber (Dan) Bauer, Christopher (Nicki) Youngberg, Beth (Chad) Neuleib, and Alex Youngberg; eight great-grandchildren, Willa and Sawyer Langemo, MacKenzie and Connor Thompson, Abriana and Isaac Bauer, and Hope and Grace Neuleib; one sister, Louise Hokanson of Fergus Falls; and two brothers, Reynold and Karl Hanson Jr. both of Fergus Falls.
