Mae Christianson, 86, a resident of Fergus Falls, formerly of Vergas, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Broen Memorial Home. Mae was born on June 9, 1924 in Frazee, MN, the daughter of Adolph and Bertha (Radel) Kratzke. She was baptized on June 29, 1924 and confirmed on May 30, 1937 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Vergas. She grew up on the family farm near Vergas and attended country school. On June 28, 1958, she married Orvin Christianson at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The couple moved to Pelican Rapids after their marriage and then moved to Fergus Falls in 1968, where she has resided; most recently she was a resident of the Broen Memorial Home. She was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Vergas. She was currently a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, where she was active in Ladies Aide, taught Sunday school and confirmation and also sang in the church choir throughout the years. Mae enjoyed spending time with her family, making numerous quilts over the years, and gardening. She also loved to share her faith with everyone. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Orvin, who died January 28, 2009 and one brother, Robert Kratzke. Survivors include her son, Len (Cathy) Christianson of Fergus Falls, two grandchildren, Sara and Kayla Christianson of Fergus Falls; sister, Alvina (Reynold) Fick of Vergas; nephew, Bill Fick of Vergas and niece, Barb Henchen of Norwood. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday with a public prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
