Lynne Ann Fitzwater, 60, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, September 17, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center in Pelican Rapids from a rare form of uterine cancer. She was born to Benno Bill Schmolke and Elva Ann Smith on March 15, 1947, in Sacramento, California. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Lynne's passion was her service and dedication. She enjoyed spending what time she could in an evangelizing work, visiting ones at their homes where she could impart some encouraging words from the Bible. She appreciated the marvels of creation, from the smallest of flowers growing in the Nevada desert to the giant Redwoods in California. Her exuberance never waned in seeing goslings appear, geese stopping traffic as they took over the paved arteries of Fergus Falls, the annual returning of the swans, a moose unconcerned with the noise and confusion of I-94, a deer gracefully hurdling obstacles, or a fawn scrambling from the underbrush. She became a great grandmother when McKenzie Lee was born July 24, 2006, in Dent, Texas to her granddaughter Jessica Stacey. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend. Lynne will be sorely missed by her husband Dan, daughters Danielle and Shaunna, her youngest grandson Tristan, and all those who's lives she touched. Her last days were spent at the Good Samaritan home in Pelican Rapids. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Good Samaritan Center for providing such considerate and kind care during that period of time. We would also like to thank all those who provided kind support, whether by preparing meals, visiting, or extending words of encouragement. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness, 3111 E. Fir Avenue, Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Arrangements were provided by Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls. Condolences may be sent online at
