Luke Carl Albert Mattson, 37, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, December 23, 2018, at his home while in his sleep.
He was born June 27, 1981, in Fargo, ND, the son of David and Kathryn (Jackson) Mattson. He lived in Moorhead until 1985, when the family moved to Fergus Falls. In 1997, he moved to Le Sueur, and graduated from Le Sueur-Henderson High School in 2000.
Luke loved to spend time with his family. He was handy and was the go-to for assembling any and all gifts on Christmas Eve. He was a history and movie buff who could recite every word to the original Star Wars movie. Luke was intelligent, with a great wit and caring heart.
Preceding him in death were his mother and grandparents.
Survivors include three siblings: two sisters, Debra (Dave) Swanberg of Le Sueur and Melissa Mattson of Fergus Falls; one brother, Kent (Nancy) Mattson of Fergus Falls; seven nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
A private funeral will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019, at First Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls with interment at a later date in Hope Cemetery, Roseau.
An avid reader throughout his life, Luke made the most of the public library. Memorial donations in memory of Luke may be made to the Fergus Falls Public Library.
