Luella Schiller, 85, of Fergus Falls, died peacefully at her son’s home in Hopkins, Minnesota on Monday, March 14, 2011. Luella Mae Lemke was born January 31, 1926, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Otto and Agnes (Odland) Lemke. She was baptized and confirmed in a rural Lutheran church and attended Fergus Falls schools. On September 13, 1951, she married Lawrence “Larry” Schiller and lived in Fergus Falls. Luella worked in California during World War II in a “Rosey the Riveter” type role. Coming back to Fergus Falls, she worked at the Fergus Falls State Hospital, JCPenny, and retired from the Fergus Falls K-Mart store. Luella enjoyed camping with her family and traveling. In later years she would travel by bus with other seniors to out of town special events and senior package trips to other states. She is survived by her sons, Donald (Kimberly) of Brooklyn Park, MN, Gregory of Fergus Falls, and Thomas (Karen) of Hopkins, MN; two grandchildren, Alycia and Levi; and her brother, William (Bernadine) Lemke of Fergus Falls. Preceding her in death were her husband, Larry, her parents, a brother, and two sisters.
