May 16, 1930 — May 17, 2024

Luella "Lou" Thora Miller, 94, of Fergus Falls, MN died Friday, May 17, 2024 at Lake Region Healthcare.

Luella was born on May 16, 1930 to Lewis and Thea (Moklev) Tysdal in Fergus Falls, MN. She shared the same birthday as her mother.

Luella graduated from the Fergus Falls High School and then completed Teacher's Training. She taught at a country school for many years. Her students adored her and continued to stay in touch.

On June 16, 1951, she was united in marriage to Rollis "Rod" Miller at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN. They were the first couple to get married in this church. Their marriage of almost 70 years was a testament of true love and devotion.

She worked at a retail dime store in Alabama while Rod was in the army. She also worked as a bookkeeper at St. Luke's Hospital and as a receptionist at Star Laundry and Cleaners, all in Fergus Falls, MN. Luella was a paraprofessional in the Fergus Falls School District. She was also the accountant for their businesses Tysdal/Miller Implement and Miller's Bobcat until they retired.

Luella was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church. She sang in the choir, was a soloist for the services and several events, was the superintendent of Sunday School, and led many Circle religious gatherings. Her love and devotion of God was very important to her throughout her life.

You always knew when Luella was in the room with her bright light of positivity as she always had something to share. She was very entertaining and everyone loved being around her. Her profound love for always putting others first and her caring spirit shined brightly throughout her life. She absolutely loved life to the fullest!

Her first priority was her family and always cared about their every need! She also loved gathering with friends and family. She held everyone close to her heart and always remembered contacting them on their birthdays.

She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, baking, canning, playing the piano and loved any type of adventure! Visitors were always welcomed with her baked goods and a cup of coffee. She never forgot how to sing or play her favorite song "You are My Sunshine."

Luella moved to the Pioneer Senior Cottage - Heartland in Fergus Falls, MN for memory care when Rod passed away in 2021. She was so blessed to be loved and cared for by their wonderful staff up until her passing.
