Lucille K. “Lucy” Wing, 90, a resident of Battle Lake, died Saturday, December 06, 2014 at PioneerCare.
Lucy grew up in Christine, ND, studied domestic science at Wahpeton school of science and traveled back to school to finish her music degree from Concordia College in 1958. Lucille married handsome and quiet Hugh Wing (from Breckenridge) and promptly had four children: Kathryn, Timothy, Lizabeth and Marcus.
Lucy taught music in the elementary and middle schools of Fergus Falls for 25 years. After retirement she directed the choir at Zion of Amor for many years.
Lucy loved a good game of bridge, an exciting book, a dramatic opera, and interesting conversations with good jokes and a tasty beverage. Lucy loved spending summers at her home on Otter Tail Lake surrounded by her family and friends.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Hugh in 2002, her daughter Lizabeth in August, 2012 and her brother Everett last year.
Lucy is survived by her children Kathryn Grandison (Cedar City, UT), Timothy Wing (San Felipe, MX), and Marcus Wing (Richville, MN); her sister Isabelle Weaver of Fargo and sister-in-law Pat Johnson of Bismarck; her grandchildren Freya Ross (Mike) of Yellowstone NP, WY/Bozeman, MT, and Christopher Denne (Jenny) of Fort Collins, CO. Her sassy, spunky nature and predilection for big mouth grins and occasional card cheating continue in great-grandchildren Katie and Miya Ross and Topher Denne.
