Lucille Evelyn Barlow, age 100, of Fergus Falls, died on Monday, May 23, 2016, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
Lucille was born on July 4, 1915, in Edgerton, WI, to Henry and Hazel (Patten) Learn. She attended school in Edgerton and completed the 10th grade. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Edgerton and Bethany Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, WI.
Lucille worked at Nun Bush Shoe Company, Thomas Industries, Rock County Nursing Home as a CNA, and at Gerry’s Upholstry Shop.
Lucille loved doing crafts. She made beautiful tablecloths, doilies, afghans and doll clothes. She had a green thumb and could get anything to grow and also loved watching the birds and squirrels outside her windows. Lucille was an avid reader of a great variety of books throughout her life, and enjoyed game shows and doing puzzles, which kept her mind active. In her late 80’s, she became an avid watcher of golf on television.
Lucille was a member of WELCA at Hope Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls and Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Hazel Learn; a son, Paul Henrich Jr.; grandchildren, Amber and Adam Martinson; a brother, Willard “Bill” Learn; her sisters, Gertrude Freeman, Doris Simonsen and Polly Teisberg; and her husbands, Paul Henrich Sr., Charles Maves and Gerald Barlow.
Lucille is survived by her children, Sueann (Warren) Martinson of Fergus Falls and Corrine (Patrick) Yuengst of Hudson, WI; her grandchildren, Andrew (Nicci) Martinson of Moorhead, Heather (Carter) Wahlgren of Fergus Falls, Shalene (Bill) Hawkins of Hammond, WI, James (Michele) Yuengst and Rebecca Yuengst, all of Hudson, WI; thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Collins of Richland Center, WI.
Visitation: 5:00 PM-7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.
