Lowell Bartel

Lowell Roger Bartel, 75, of Breckenridge, died Friday December 27, 2019, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
Lowell was born January 2, 1944, to Fred Bartel and Augusta Radel in Frazee, MN. He grew up in Frazee on the family farm. He attended school in Frazee and then later attended the Fergus Falls Community College. He also served in the Minnesota National Guard.
In June of 1967 he married Elaine Esser in Fergus Falls. The couple resided in rural Frazee and then relocated to Fergus Falls. He was the owner and operator of Bartel Drywall in Fergus Falls for over 40 years. Lowell was also employed as a resident manager at Lake Region Half Way House.
He married Lynette Harworth in 1990 in Sisseton, SD.
Lowell was active with the ALANO Club and also AA, leading meetings at the Ottertail County Jail. He loved music and would sing and play guitar at family parties, some of his favorite country music performers were Hank, Willie, and Waylon. Other activities he enjoyed were playing cribbage, reading, watching westerns on tv, and taking Scott and Bailey to BMX races.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenny and Freddy, and sisters, Gladys Hendrickson and Clarice Mayer.
Lowell is survived by his children, Lee (Mark) Anderson of St. Cloud, MN, Todd Bartel and Scott Bartel both of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Bailey (Marta) Bartel of Columbus, GA, Izik Bartel of Burnsville and their mother, Kera Thibodeau, Maci Bartel of Fergus Falls and her mother, Abby Barry, and Daxton Garza of Fergus Falls; siblings, Ethel Quade of Frazee, Donna Walsh of Spokane, WA, and Millie Johnson of California; sister-in-law, Bev Bartel, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are provided by the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
