Lovell Noreen Dahl, 80, a resident of Pelican Rapids, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Pelican Valley Health Care in Pelican Rapids.
She was born on June 1, 1937, in Columbia, S.D., to Carl Norwood and Loree Theda Marie (Hammond) Hanson. Lovell graduated from Redfield High School in South Dakota in 1955, and she always spoke of how proud she was of being a Snow Queen candidate for Redfield her junior year of high school. She graduated from Western Union training in Crawford, Indiana, in 1956.
On August 7, 1957, Lovell married Earl Christopher Dahl in Fargo, N.D. They farmed for several years near Kragness, MN, moved to Fargo, ND, until 1974, and finally to Pelican Rapids, MN, where she resided for her remaining years.
Lovell was employed by Western Union and the Fargo Forum as a Switchboard Operator, as well as a paraprofessional at Pelican Rapids Elementary School for 25 years until her retirement in 2005. She loved birds, gardening, animals, cooking, and laughter.
Lovell will be most remembered for her loving personality, her ability to connect and listen to others, her unique sense of humor, and her kindness and generosity. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Norwood and Loree Hanson; husband, Earl Dahl; son, Earl Thomas Dahl; sisters, Loree (Rooney) and Dana; and brother, Tab.
Survivors include her children, Denise F. (Rick) Dahl Evenson, Lana J. (Dean) Dahl Ouren, Troy M. Dahl, Tyler C. Dahl; grandchildren, Courtney (Chuck) Larsen, Chelsey (Ryan) McGinnis, Carly (Steven) Haiby, Dylan (Emily) Evenson, McKale Evenson, Hally Evenson, Taylor Hennen; great-grandchildren, Barrett, Oskar, and Matilda Larsen, Riggins, Rowdy, and Raya Lovell McGinnis, Axel and Rogan Haiby; siblings, Gaylord, Linda, Mark, Rex, Randall, Penny, Debbie, Kim, and Mara.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11:00 AM on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids

Interment: Ringsaker Cemetery
