LouElla J. Lysne, 85, a resident at Riverbend Apartments in Fergus Falls, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. She was born on December 26, 1925, in Fargo, North Dakota, the daughter of Oscar and Amanda (Anderson) Steinbach, and grew up in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, where she attended school. In 1943 she married Marshall Nendick in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1958 she married Norman Lysne in Webster, South Dakota. She lived most of her life in Fergus Falls, and enjoyed her years working at the Lantern Cafe and at Adams Elementary School. Lou enjoyed bingo, going to dances, and loved to bake and cook. She had strong religious beliefs, and was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Preceding her in death were her husband, Norman Lysne, her parents, Amanda and Oscar Steinbach, and a son, David E. Lysne. Survivors include her children; LeRoy (Janet) Lysne of Dalton, Minnesota, Dennis Lysne of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Sandy (Mike) Oak of Moorhead, Minnesota, Richard (Kris) Lysne of Dalton, Minnesota, David M. Lysne of Reno, Nevada, Norma Jean “Punki” Loomer of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Vicki (Steve) Scheer of Erhard, Minnesota, and Steve Lysne of San Antonio, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dory Foshaug of Sun City, Arizona, and Ceedy Mewszel of Fargo, North Dakota. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
