Lorraine Sundal

Lorraine Sundal, 97, of Fergus Falls, died peacefully at LB Broen Home, surrounded by family, Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Lorraine Juliette Sundal was born November 28, 1926, to John and Anna (Dethlefson) Sundberg in Fergus Falls. She attended school in Fergus Falls and graduated in 1945. Furthering her education at Fergus Falls Junior College, she earned a clerical degree.

In the summer of 1951 Lorraine married Harlan “Sunny” Sundal. They had 2 sons, Jeff and Mike. 

Lorraine was employed at Independent School District #544 for 18 years until her retirement. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible Study and was a member of Red Hats at Augustana.

She loved car rides down the country roads, all animals and anything with her grandchildren, as they were her pride and joy.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Anna; brother, James and son, Jeffrey.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Michael of Fergus Falls; daughter-in-law, Jeanne of Dalton; grandchildren, Laura (Dan) Bolstad; Andrew (Rebecca) Sundal and Amber (Nick) Sundal; great-grandchildren, Colt and Cooper Bolstad; sister-in-law, Snookie (Cecelia) Sundal and nephew, Dennis (Michelle) Sundberg and their children, Kai, Jordan and Jasmine 

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2024, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the church

Clergy: Reverend Amy Kelly

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
