Lorraine Mykleby

November 27, 1924 — April 7, 2012

Lorraine Jean (Krause) Mykleby, age 87, of Fergus Falls, formerly of Dalton, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. Lorraine was born November 27, 1924 in Fergus Falls. She was the daughter of Ferdinand and Hattie (Buth) Krause. Lorraine attended Madison Elementary School in Fergus Falls. In 1936 the family moved to Elizabeth Township where she attended District 115. Lorraine attended Fergus Falls High School for one year and in 1980 received her GED. For a short time she worked in the café at the Red Owl store in Fergus Falls. On June 11, 1950 Lorraine married Marvil Mykleby at Trinity Lutheran church in Fergus Falls. The couple farmed in St. Olaf Township until Marvil’s death in 1978. She then moved to Fergus Falls to live with her sister and help care for her father. In March 2009 she moved to Alcott Manor and in April of 2010 moved to the Broen Home. Lorraine enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking, sun fishing and especially watching the Minnesota Twins. Her ready smile will be missed. She was a member of Our Savior Ten Mile Lake Lutheran church and Ladies Aide in Dalton. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Marvil in 1978, a son, Bradley in 1973, and her sister, Donna Krause in 2003. Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie (Jim) Borgrud of Ashby; sister-in-law, Mabel Mykleby; brother-in-law Sidney Skrove, both of Fergus Falls; a nephew, Nathan (Julie) Skrove of Northfield; nieces Gail (Edmond Gould) Hart of Minnetonka, and Sharon (Jack) Lacey of Wendell; and several cousins.
