Loren Nelson

Loren Thomas Nelson, 80, of Fargo, ND passed away 12/19/2024 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. Loren was born in Fergus Falls, MN to parents Ralph and Myrtle Nelson, where he was raised with 6 siblings. He attended and graduated Fergus Falls High School and Fergus Falls Community College and U of M, St Paul. After graduation, he spent time as a carnival worker and was proud of his work with the Oregon Forest Service.

In 1967, Loren married the mother of his 5 children, Myrna Kroll Rose, and settled on the Kroll family farm outside Elizabeth, MN to raise their family. He spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver, allowing him to travel the US driving semis.

After all the kids graduated and moved out, life changed and he met and married his last love Marvill Lavonne Beiningen in 1997. They lived happily together in Fargo, ND for 28 years. Loren and Marvill spent their retirement years exploring the backroads all across the country, which allowed them to enjoy hobbies like metal detecting.

Loren was his given name but he earned many names over the nearly 81 years he graced us with his life and love. He was father, brother, dad, stepdad, stepmom, papa Loren, grandpa gadget, uncle dad, and pops, to name a few.

Between the two blended families there are numerous grandkids, great grandkids and even a few great-great grandkids.

Although Loren's passing is incredibly sad and he will be dearly missed, we are overjoyed he gets to spend Christmas with Jesus and those loved ones who have passed before him.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Clergy: Pastor Sarah Seibold

Interment: Lake Lida Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MN at a later date
