Lois Springer, 85, of Fergus Falls, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at her home.
She was born on August 17, 1928, at Turtle Lake, ND, the daughter of Albert and Hattie (Krause) Lelm. At the age of two, she moved with her family to the Mantador Wyndmere area. She attended grade school in Liberty Grove and Danton Townships. She graduated from Wyndmere High School.
Lois was employed in the offices of the Wilkin County ASCS, St. Francis Hospital and Douglas County Hospital. She also was co-owner and operator of a Grade A dairy, a hotel and a resort.
She enjoyed singing in the church choir, teaching Sunday School, child care for families in the church nursery and helped to fold bulletins at the church every Thursday. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading, bowling, fishing and playing Scrabble. In a trip to the Holy Land, she was baptized in the Jordan River. She was a member of Crossroads Church in Fergus Falls.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Dale; five brothers, Willard, in infancy, Reuben, Leander, Gordon and Alan; and five sisters, Lametta, Verona, Orlean, Julie and Lila.
Survivors include her son, Lyle (Doris) of Evansville; a daughter-in-law, Janice Springer of Fergus Falls; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church
