Lois J. Lillemon

Lois J. Lillemon, 87, a resident of Fergus Falls, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 6, 2017.

Lois was born on May 14, 1930, in Fergus Falls, the second of six children to Lloyd and Emily (Westerberg) Enderson. Lois attended high school in Fergus Falls, graduating in 1948. She was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls for 61 years.

In 1950, she married Ralph Opsahl; they were blessed with their daughter, Debrah. In 1955, Lois married H. Gaynor Lillemon, being blessed with five children; Kim, Bradley, Tamara, Brian, and Patrick.

Over the years, Lois was employed by Orpheum Theater, Fergus Falls State Hospital, AB Kilde, St. Luke’s Hospital, North Union Grocery, and Pamida.

In her younger years, Lois was a leader with her children’s campfire and cub scout events, as well as a little league coach. She was an active trap shooter and bowler. She enjoyed entertaining in her beautiful backyard filled with flowers and birdhouses, and spending time with her family and friends, cooking and baking during the holidays or special occasions, making sure to send a personalized card for every occasion.
She faithfully attended her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities.

Lois enjoyed the Minnesota Wild, NASCAR, camping, hunting, fishing, canning grape jelly using grapes from her own vines, and cooking. She was great at entertaining, putting on a spectacular Halloween party, Wednesday-night meals, and never missing a holiday or birthday.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Emily and Lloyd Enderson; brother, Jerry Enderson; grandparents, Anton and Nellie Enderson, and John and Lucy Westerberg.

She is survived by her children, Debrah (James) Ehlert of Breckenridge, Kim (Duane) Hanson, Bradley Lillemon, Tamara (Mark) Anderson, Brian (Tracy) Lillemon, and Patrick Lillemon, all of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Jeremy (Ann) Ehlert, Jessica Mayes, Dustin (Dawn) Walls, Tyler (Nikki) Walls, Dustin (Ashley Smith) Hanson, Casey (Shawn Beyer) Fitzgerald, Jake Lillemon, Michael Walls, Joshua Lillemon, Mya Lillemon, Leisha Hagebock, Joseph Lillemon, Brooke Lillemon, and Daniel Anderson; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia (Everett) Norton of Michigan, Sally Serrago of South Carolina, Nancy Adair of Wahpeton, and Connie (Donald) Eggen of Fergus Falls; sister-in-law, Doris Enderson of Fergus Falls; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-7 PM Monday, October 9, 2017, at Olson Funeral Home, with a 6:30 public prayer service, and resuming one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at First Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
Clergy: Reverend Martha Halls and Reverend Doug Dent
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery
