Lois L. Folger, 87, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
She was born June 23, 1927, in Hammond, IN, the daughter of Fred and Dorothy (Drudge) Peck. She grew up in Hammond and graduated high school, as a member of the National Honor Society, in 1945.
Lois moved to Hawley, MN where she met Earl Keith Folger. On June 23, 1946, they were married and continued to live in Hawley/ Moorhead area. They moved to Milwaukee, WI , Shererville, IN and in 1955, they moved to Fergus Falls, where Keith began his career with Otter Tail Power Company, working in Fergus Falls, Jamestown, ND, Morris, MN and back to Fergus Falls.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, served as the church secretary and was involved in bible study and prayer chain. She was an instrumental part of starting the Christmas Dinner at Grace United Methodist Church. She was a member and president of the American Legion Auxiliary. Lois enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, reading, gardening, and knitting. In her later years, she created many unique designs on stocking hats for family and friends throughout the world.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Earl Keith; parents, and a brother, George Peck.
Survivors include five daughters, Patty (Bob) Miller of Battle Lake, Lois Kay (Bryan) Berg of Long Prairie, Becky (Dick) Berg of Rochester, Sally (Rick) Martinson of Rockford and Maryann (Roy) Buckner of Moorhead; three sons, Fred (Barbara) of New Hartford, NY, Michael (Jeanie) of Bloomington and Bill (Leslee) of Pipestone; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Cosgrove of Hobart, IN and Mary (Mel) Manter of Peyton, CO; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 with a 4:30 p.m. prayer service at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
