Lois Merle Ellsworth, 74, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, December 8, 2007, at the Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls. She was born January 6, 1933, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of William Jr. and Marguerite (Halverson) Geldert. She graduated from San Diego High School in 1950. Her life was spent as a naturalist, artist and homemaker. She loved photography, plants/flowers and music - she sang beautifully, and she also enjoyed painting. She was passionate about preserving the earth's environment. Lois was a very kind, gentle person and will be missed. Her parents preceded her in death. Survivors include her four children: James Michael McGrath of San Diego, Daniel McGrath of Arizona, Julie White Wolf (Jon) Jaenisch of Erhard, and Brian Patrick McGrath of Duluth; many grand and great grandchildren; her brother, Jim (Annie) Geldert of northern California; and her children's father, Jim McGrath of Ocala, Florida. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Pioneer Retirement Community Chapel in Fergus Falls, with Pastor Angie Erickson officiating.
