Linda Watkins

April 24, 1948 — August 9, 2008

Linda D. Watkins, 60, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Lake Region Hospital.  She was born April 24, 1948, in San Jose, Calif., the daughter of Louis and Florence (Bain) Morgan. She graduated from Anderson High School in California. On Oct. 13, 1965, she married Larry Watkins in Couch, Mo. She was a stay-at-home mom, dedicated to caring for her family. She sold Avon for several years and worked on the 2000 census as a counter. She was a life member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Tri-County Bird Club in Redding, Calif. One of her passions was raising birds. At one time, she raised and cared for 200 exotic birds, caring for them from egg to hatchling, which she hand-fed. She loved to make bird toys for them to play on. One of her favorite birds was a Scarlett Macaw named Magic. She also loved to scrapbook — which she passed onto her daughters and granddaughters — quilting and enjoying time with her family. She will be remembered for her time spent in the kitchen, baking treats, and was best-known for her home-made bread. She was known as "Honey," by her grandson, Kaleb. In 2004, she and Larry and their youngest daughter, Tori, moved to Fergus Falls to be closer to family. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Florence Morgan. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Larry; a son, Ken (Andrea) Watkins, daughter, Crystal (John) Koza, son, Stacy Watkins, and daughters, Tina Kenoyer and Tori Watkins, all of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Nathan Koza, Ashley Koza, Doug Watkins, Nik Koza, Joey Kenoyer, Sean Watkins, Echo Watkins, Kaleb Watkins and Ethen Watkins; one great-grandchild, Gavyn Koza; two brothers, Bill Morgan and Douglas Morgan; and a sister, DeAnne Smith, all of California. A celebration of her life is planned at a later date. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls assisted with arrangements.
