Lois Linda Gaye Kugler, 75, former resident of High Island Lake in Erhard MN, passed away peacefully Saturday February 8, 2025 at her home in Fergus Falls under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Red River Valley.
Linda was born February 7, 1950 in Gate City, VA, the 11th child of 12 to Will and Stella Salyer. Her feisty and spunky personality was evident at an early age and she was very proud that she was "The hardest daughter her momma ever raised!" On May 7, 1970 she married Daryl Kugler, a handsome soldier boy she had been writing letters to. Seven days seemed a good amount of time to know someone, so off to MN she went to begin their new life together. Her greatest joys in life were her 3 kids and 10 grandchildren. She loved to brag about them to anyone who would listen. She had the best ones in the whole world and they made her proud every day!
Linda's passion in life was people-she loved feeding them, visiting and laughing with them, and doing little things to make their day a little bit brighter. Parties were the norm at Linda's no matter what stage of life she was in. She was famous for her monster cookies and doughnut holes around the neighborhood and Underwood School where she was always bringing them to her grandkids' games. Linda loved to dance! All was right in her world when she was dancing with Daryl. She was loved by so many special people throughout her life. Her sassy personality was a bright light in the center of any gathering.
Through the years Linda worked as a cleaning lady, nanny and CNA-working at Broen Home and the MN Veterans Home-FF. She loved her "old people" and caring for them brought her much satisfaction. She was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Friberg, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Daryl; infant great-grandson,Brooks Patrick Jampsa; parents, Will and Stella Salyer; in-laws, Kenny and Fran Kugler; brothers, Leon (Lois) Salyer, Dave (Audrey) Salyer, infant brother, Sterling Eugene Salyer, Bill Salyer, Joe (Francis) Salyer, and Larry Salyer; sisters, Lila Salyer, Denna (Roy) Hillman, Joyce Farmer, and Judy Bledsoe, brothers-in-law, Bobby Dougherty, Dick (Sheree) Kugler, Jim Kugler; and sister-in-law, Bernie Kugler.
