Lily C. Wahl, 91, of Eden Prairie, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, November 19, 2011, in Minnetonka. She was born June 11, 1920, in Erhard, the daughter of Wilhelm and Florence (Perkins) Svendsgaard. Lily grew up in Elizabeth Township, near Long Lake where she attended rural School Dist 203. She attended Nurses Training at the Fergus Falls State Hospital. She was then employed as an LPN at the Wrights Hospital in Fergus Falls On October 6, 1956, she married Henry Wahl at Tonseth Lutheran Church rural Erhard. They moved to Bowman, ND where she helped on their farm and also worked as an LPN in Bowman. After her husband’s death she returned to Fergus Falls to be closer to her siblings. She then continued her association with the Tonseth Lutheran Church, joining the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed reading, baking and knitting. Lily was an extremely loving mother and took great pride and joy in her children. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a son, Daniel; and a brother, James Svendsgaard. Survivors include her son Allen Wahl of Helena, MT; and two daughters, Sharon Wahl and Carol Wahl both of Minnetonka; a sister, Alice Hovland of Fergus Falls; a brother Warren Svendsgaard of Fergus Falls along with nieces and nephews.
