Lieselotte ‘Lotti’ Gutwin, age 72 of Fergus Falls, died Friday evening at her home under the loving care of her family and Lakeland Hospice. She was born on March 14, 1936 in Korbach, Germany the daughter of Robert and Elisabeth (Gerlach) Mander. She grew up and attended school in Korbach and on December 25, 1954 she married Hermann Gutwin there. Together they immigrated to the United States and made their home in New Jersey until 1990 when they retired to Fergus Falls. The union was blessed with two children: Edeltraud and Angela. Lotti worked for many years as a seamstress in the garment industry and in later years was a Supervisor for Renoc Corporation. She was a longstanding member of the Northville Lutheran Ladies Aide in New Jersey. She will be sadly missed by her friends in New Jersey, especially best friend Ida Metzger. Lotti had many interests and hobbies including sewing, knitting, crocheting and embroidery. She had a special fondness for Word puzzles and playing slot machines at Hankinson. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening and preparing special meals for her family. She will be especially missed by her children who proclaimed her the ‘bestest Mommy in the whole wide world’. Lotti fought a courageous battle with cancer and was lovingly cared for her husband of 54 years, Hermann. She is survived by husband Hermann Gutwin of Fergus Falls, two daughters, Edeltraud Loatman of Avalon, NJ and Angela (John) Koeppe of Fergus Falls, six grandchildren, Timothy (Kylee) Loatman, Nikki (Joe) Harvey, Damien Loatman, Destini (Nick) Schnepf, JoHanna (Evan) Gratz, and Nastassia (Shane) Fjestad, as well as 5 great grandchildren, Jayden Berg, Ian Halvorson, Carter Halvorson, Jaxson Harvey, and Kira Loatman.
