Leonard H. Rostad, 85, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, January 5, 2012, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. He was born January 5, 1927, at home on the farm near Battle Lake, Minnesota, the son of Maynard and Martha (Whittstock) Rostad. He worked on his dad’s farm and worked for Vagts for a couple of years doing road construction. He went to work at Park Region Bakery in 1952 and worked there until 1983. Leonard really enjoyed fishing, collecting his John Deere memorabilia, and the Dalton and Rollag Threshing Bees. On May 27, 1950 he married Margery Norgren in Fergus Falls, and they celebrated 61 years of wedded bliss. Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister, Ruth, his brother, Kenneth, his half brother, Grant, and his stepmother, Viola. Survivors include his wife, Margery of Fergus Falls; his son, Boyd Rostad of Fergus Falls; his daughter, Sara (Wes) Skillings of Mullen, NE; his grandson, Jason Skillings of Ennis, MT; his granddaughter, Christine (Tyler) Ericksen of Bellevue, NE; a great-granddaughter, Nattlye Ericksen of Bellevue, NE; a half-brother, Mark Rostad of Otter Tail Lake; and Leola Campbell of Pine City, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
