Leo Louis Jorschumb, age 90, of Fergus Falls, died on Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.
Leo was born on July 3, 1925, in Wheaton, MN, to Emil A. and Elsie (Herrmann) Jorschumb. On July 6, 1950, he was married to Geraldine Gertrude Nye. He farmed 170 acres for thirty years north of Audubon, MN, while working construction as a builder, building houses and other projects. In 1984, he sold the farm and retired from farming. He then moved to Fergus Falls, where he worked as a handy-man until the early 2000’s.
He enjoyed many building and carpentry projects, such as making bird houses and shelves, woodworking, fishing, hunting, gardening and was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Leo was a member of the Eagles Aerie No. 2339 and First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Elsie Jorschumb; two brothers; one sister; and an infant son.
Survivors include his special companion, Phyllis Neisess of Fergus Falls; his four children, Elton (Lori) Jorschumb of Frazee, Betty (Gordon) Johnson of Shakopee, Kathie Daak of Moorhead and Randy (Kathy) Jorschumb of Audubon; his grandchildren, Gordy Johnson, Tammie Willkom, Julie Nelson, Lyle Jorschumb, Marty Jorschumb, Jeremey Jorschumb, Brandi Osterman and Leo Jorschumb; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; sisters, Hulda Ballhagen of Clinton, MN and Carol Haugen of Vacaville, CA and brothers, Harold Jorschumb of Bowersville, GA and Robert Jorschumb of Ortonville, MN.
