Leo “Bud” Harles, 84, died Monday, February 1, 2016, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
He was born May 2, 1931, in Friberg Township, rural Fergus Falls, the son of Leo and Mildred (Evenson) Harles. He attended country school through the 8th grade.
On October 28, 1950, he married Inez Milbeck at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Elizabeth. Leo worked a variety of jobs before entering the U.S. Navy in April of 1952. After his discharge in December of 1954, he returned to rural Fergus Falls and began dairy farming. In October of 2014, they moved into Fergus Falls.
Leo was a member of VFW Post 612 in Fergus Falls. He enjoyed fishing, attending auction sales and spending time with friends, neighbors and all his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two infant sons; a sister, Dortha Sell; three brothers, Gordon, David and Donald; a sister-in-law, Edith Harles and a brother-in-law, Blaine Piper.
Survivors include his wife, Inez of Fergus Falls; three daughters, Rebekah (Dan) Lee of Fergus Falls, Christine (Curt) Peasley of rural Erhard and Teresa (Gregg) Dutcher of rural Erhard; seven grandchildren, David (Ashley) Lee, Anna Lee, Josie Lee, Elizabeth Peasley, Joseph Peasley, Amanda Dutcher and Sarah (Richard Gray) Dutcher; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Piper of Fergus Falls; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016, at the funeral home with a prayer service at 6:30 and there will be a Rosary said at 7 p.m.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Elizabeth
