Lenora O. Andersen, 93, of Fergus Falls, formerly of Dent, died Friday, November 25, 2011, at PioneerCare. She was born September 21, 1918, on the family homestead in Aurdal Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota, the daughter of Oscar and Oulffa Bjorgo. Her mother passed away when she was two months old. She grew up on the farm being raised by her father, with the help of her grandmother, aunts and uncles. She attended country school and was baptized and confirmed at the Aurdal Lutheran Church. Lenora married Morris Halverson, who died during WWII in the Battle of the Bulge. In April of 1947, she married John A. Andersen at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. In her younger years, she worked at Wrights Hospital as a nurses aide and also at Jewett Lake Resort. Later she helped on the farm and raised her family. She was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls and currently an active member of Tingvold Lutheran Church, rural Underwood, where she was involved with the ladies aide and quilting. Lenora was a member of the Red Hat Club, a birthday club in Orwell Township, enjoyed Bunko, Yahtzee, Shanghi, whist, and her family. Preceding her in death were her husbands, Morris and John; brothers, Edward, at age seven, Sylvester and Sanford, and half sisters, Julia, Amanda and Ida. Survivors include her children, Quinton Halvorson of Wahpeton, Joyce (Daryl) Trites of Dent; Roger (Pam) Andersen of Dent and Jeffrey Andersen of Richville; granddaughters, Amber Halvorson, Summer (Rick), Skye (Steven) Halvorson, Tamsin Halvorson, Carissa Trites and Misty (Jeff) Greenley; grandsons, Brent Trites, Darin (Jodie) Trites and Chad (friend, Amanda) Andersen; step grandchildren, Donna and Ricky Brux; seven great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; three step great-grandchildren and her special dog, Mia.
