Lee Alan Kittelson, 66, a resident of Fergus Falls, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 20, 2017, at his home.
Lee was born January 1, 1951, in Montevideo, MN, the son of Leland and Marjorie (Hildahl) Kittelson. He grew up with his siblings on the family farm and graduated from Milan High School in 1969. After high school, he attended Moorhead State University where he met Karen Totland.
On August 18, 1973, he married Karen at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. The couple made their home in Fergus Falls where they raised their two sons. They were married for nearly forty years until her death. Lee went to work for Ottertail Power Company in 1974, where he worked in multiple positions for over 39 years, retiring in 2013.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Classic Car Club, and the Snowmobile Club. He was a hard worker who loved doing projects at home or doing yard work, and took great pride in his home and his cars. He also enjoyed woodworking, visiting airshows and airplane museums, listening to “Oldies” music, or riding his cars, snowmobiles and motorcycle. He was always quick to smile and joke around with anybody. He especially enjoyed spending time with his three granddaughters.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Karen and his parents, Leland and Marjorie.
Survivors include his son Brian (Julia) Kittelson of Rapid City, SD; son Mark (Alyssia) Kittelson of Fargo, ND; brother Steve (Lisa) Kittelson of Amboy, MN; brother Mike Kittelson of Yankton, SD; sister Laurie Kittelson of Stillwater, MN; granddaughters Jaden, Elizabeth, and Hannah; and many nieces and nephews.
