Lawrence Andrew Carroll, 76, a resident of the Minnesota Veteran’s Home in Fergus Falls, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Triumph Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. He was born April 18, 1934, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Peter and Hilda (Anderson) Carroll. He grew up in Fergus Falls, where he attended school and graduated from High School. He worked for Swedbergs, and then started working for Otter Tail Power Company. Lawrence joined the U. S. Army, and was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division. Upon his discharge he returned to Fergus Falls where he resumed his employment with Otter Tail Power Company, retiring in 1989. He was an avid outdoorsman, and also enjoyed spending time with his family. Preceding him in death were his parents, and two sisters, Adrianne Jastram and Mary Louise Holien. Survivors include his wife, Eva, of Fergus Falls; four sons: Michael (Jan Dumas) Carroll of Elizabeth, Terry Carroll of Lengby, MN, Robert Carroll of Rothsay, and Thomas Carroll of Grand Forks, ND; four grandchildren: Kellie, Andrea, Kaitlyn, and Jack; a brother, Eugene Carroll of Flasher, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Brenny Hall in Elizabeth with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
