LaVerne Wigdahl

LaVerne C. Wigdahl, 95, of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, March 30, 2025 at LB Broen Home in Fergus Falls.

LaVerne was born, May 26, 1929, to Ernest and Clara (Bremer) Kort. She attended country school and graduated from Fergus Falls Highs School.

She was a farm wife for 33 years. At the age of 50 she began a new life. She worked at Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls Treatment Center, Prairie Community services and the Baby Corner. She loved babies and felt great comfort in holding them. She traveled to Texas many winters to visit her son. She would go to stay in Rushford, MN many weeks at a time to visit her youngest son.

She loved watching baseball and football. The Minnesota Vikings were her favorite. She loved playing cards, puzzles, and word search puzzles. Going out to eat and backyard barbeques were special. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When they came to visit, she would talk about it for days.

LaVerne is survived by her children, Michael (Patti) Wigdahl of Fargo, ND, Diane Ross of Fergus Falls and Jeff (Penny) Wigdahl of Webb Lake, WI; grandsons and granddaughters, Jeremy (Lisa) Johnson of Farmington, MN, Ryan Wigdahl of Lewiston, MN, Amanda (Justin) Frahm of Moorhead, MN, Randy (Nicki) Wigdahl of Winona, MN, Katie (Wigdahl) Gast of Fargo, ND, Casey (Kelly) Johnson of Fargo, ND and Robert (Sarah) Wigdahl of Hillsboro, ND; great-grandchildren, Riley Wigdahl of Lewiston, MN, Mason Wigdahl of Winona, MN, Delaney Johnson, Kaitlyn Johnson, Gabriel Johnson and Ryleigh Johnson all of Farmington, MN, Devin Wigdahl of Hillsboro, ND, Aubree Wigdahl of Hillsboro, ND; great-great-granddaughter, Alora Mae of Farmington, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Clara Kort; infant sister, Lorraine; brother, Arvin Kort and sister-in-law, Geraldine Kort.

A private graveside service will be held at St. John Cemetery in Elizabeth, MN.
