Laverne Lee

Laverne A. Lee, 82, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. She was born May 7, 1927, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Bennie and Inga Maria (Olson) Anderson.  On November 23, 1948, she married Clifford Thomas Lee at Ebenezer Evangelical Church in Fergus Falls. They made their home five miles south of Fergus Falls in Buse Township, where Laverne was a homemaker. In her younger years you would often find her working outside the house, helping out Cliff in the fields.  She was a member of Church of Peace United Methodist. Laverne enjoyed gardening and canning, cooking and baking. She always tried to have cookies in the cookie jar for her great-grandchildren. Everyone will always remember her for her macaroni hotdish. She enjoyed family time, and was so happy when her great-grandchildren came to visit. Preceding her in death were her husband, Clifford Lee on November 11, 1995, and her parents, Bennie and Inga Anderson. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra “Sandy” (Merle) Hasse of Underwood; three grandsons: Trevor Hasse of Fergus Falls, Travis (Bridget) Hasse of Breckenridge, and Tyler (Charity) Hasse of Wahpeton, ND; five great-grandchildren: Zachariah Hasse, Bryant Hasse, Alexis Hasse, Keaton Hasse, and Braxton Hasse; her brother, Stan Anderson of Fergus Falls; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Lynette Ripley, Gladys Hanson, Dorothy Lindely, Dorothy Mae Lee, Clara Peasley, Helen Graber, Sylvia McCollough, Floyd and Delores Lee, Woodrow Lee, and Charles and Carol Lee; Charles Miller, who made his home with Cliff and Laverne for many years; and a very special person in her life, her caregiver, Corine Seiple. Visitation: 3-5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
