Laurie Jean Wilde, age 63, of Burnsville, died Saturday, May 7th in Yuma, Arizona.
Laurie was born on September 3, 1952 in Pelican Rapids to Marvin and Arlene (Jensen) Weik. She grew up in Rothsay and graduated with the Rothsay Class of 1970. After High School she attended Moorhead Technical College and graduated in 1972 from their Medical Records program. On February 9, 1974 she married Larry Wilde at the Hamar Lutheran Church.
For a time after college she worked for Bristol Distributing. Most of her career, over a period of 36 years, Laurie worked as a customer service claim processor for several insurance companies. She retired on September 15th, 2010. Through the years she’s been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and Easter Lutheran Church in Eagan, MN.
Laurie enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking, baking (she made the best brownies) and reading. She valued time spent entertaining family and friends as well as spending summers at the cabin on Lake Lida and wintering in Yuma, Arizona. Following her beloved MN Twins and Gopher Basketball Teams were a favorite along with enjoying a few TV game shows. She was known to never turn down an opportunity for a little retail therapy (better known as shopping).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlene and Marvin Weik, aunts, uncles and her father-in-law, Lester Wilde.
Surviving her is her husband, Larry of Burnsville, and son, Jason also of Burnsville, a brother, Kevin (Nancy) Weik of Breckenridge, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncle, in-laws and her mother-in-law, Darlene Wilde of Elizabeth

Fergus Falls, MN
