Laurel D. Anderson, 67, a resident of Fergus Falls, MN, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.
He was born May 19, 1947 to Arthur and Antoinette (Weiss) Anderson in Pelican Rapids. As a young boy, he worked on his sister’s farm. He attended Fergus Falls High School, graduating in 1965. He then continued his education at Fergus Falls Community College.
Laurel was drafted into the army in 1968 where he served for two years in Ft. Lewis, WA and Germany until his discharge in 1970.
On June 21, 1975 Laurel was united in marriage to Glenda Supernois in Fergus Falls.
Laurel was a hard worker as he learned at a young age. He worked at the drive-in Theatre in Fergus Falls, Medallion Kitchens and also as a driver for United Building Center and The Otter Express.
He was a member of The Univited Car Club, Cruisn Corvettes, Northern Lights Corvette Club and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Laurel had a love for cars and enjoyed going to car shows, restoring his GTO, travelling with the Corvette Club, taking car rides with his wife and collecting classic car memorabilia. He enjoyed attending concerts, bird watching, and watching the deer at Orwell Dam and especially loved spending time with this family and his dog, Libbi.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Leone Backstrom and brothers-in-law, Floyd Kohlhase, Floyd Duenow and Verlyn Haiby.
Survivors include his wife Glenda of Fergus Falls; daughters, Heather (Josh) Anderson of St. Cloud, Halei Anderson (Daniel Albrecht) of Courtenay, ND; siblings, Elroy (Arlene) Anderson of Fergus Falls, Ken Anderson of Fergus Falls, Verna Mae Duenow of Fergus Falls, Joann Haiby of Fergus Falls, Betty Kohlhase of Fergus Falls, Dorene (Donald) Nelson of Fergus Falls; brother-in law, Elroy Backstrom of Pelican Rapids. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
