Laura E. (Neutzling) Hotchkiss, 87, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls. She was born September 13, 1924 in Lake Henry, Minnesota, the daughter of Leo and Frances (Lieser) Neutzling. The Neutzling family moved to Albany, Minnesota when she was three years old. She attended school and graduated from Albany High School in 1942. On April 3, 1948, she married Jack Hotchkiss of Fergus Falls at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria. They lived in Fergus Falls where she worked for the West Otter Tail Soil Conservation until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, the Elks, and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. Laura bowled in the ladies league for 35 years, was an officer of WIBC, and helped Jack doing secretary work for ABC. Laura and Jack were elected to the Fergus Falls Bowling Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Pebble Lake Golf Club for 47 years and played bridge with different groups for many years. She loved to crochet, creating several afghans throughout the years. Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters Eulalia (William) Stein and Alverna (Aloys) Neis, brother Alvin Neutzling, brother-in-law Howard Blaske, in-laws Robert and Elaine Hotchkiss, brothers-and sisters-in-law Del and Dorothy Porter and Warren and Betty Sagerhorn, and brother-in-law Robert Hotchkiss. Survivors include her husband, Jack Hotchkiss of Fergus Falls; daughter, Pam (Howard) Dean of Minneapolis; son, Harley Hotchkiss of Phoenix, AZ; grandson, Joe (Kelie) Hotchkiss of Phoenix, AZ; sister Leonora (Roy) Brede; sisters-in-law Clarice Neutzling and Doris Hotchkiss; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
