Larry Willis Christensen, 58, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at his home under Hospice care. He was born March 8, 1954, in Fergus Falls, the son of Harris and Myrtle (Thom) Christensen. He attended school in Fergus Falls, graduating in 1972. Larry was employed by City Bakery, National Tea Bakery, the Fergus Falls Theatre, and the City of Fergus Falls. He later was a bartender, roofer, printer, and carpet layer and worked for Northern Contours, retiring in 2007, due to health reasons. He served in the US Navy on the submarine USS Sunfish, during the Vietnam War, and received the National Defense Service Medal and Navy Expeditionary Medal. Larry was a member of the VFW and enjoyed wood burning, and going to rummage sales. Preceding him in death were his father, and an infant brother, Jimmy. Survivors include his children, Vanessa (Ryan) Christiansen of Twin Valley, Jacob (Abby) Christensen of Perham and Angela Christensen of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Cameren Christensen and a grandson expected in July; his mother, Myrtle of Fergus Falls; sisters, Diane Christensen of Las Vegas, NV, Debi (Greg) Diestler of Fergus Falls and Sandy (Shawn) Burns of Hopkins along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Pebble Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church, 18998 Co.
