LaRay Wigdahl, 73, of DeBary, Florida, formerly of Rothsay, died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
He was born on December 5, 1943 in Fergus Falls, the son of Alfred and Anna Olida (Gronseth) Wigdahl. He grew up in Rothsay and graduated from the Rothsay High School. LaRay went on to attend the Fergus Falls Community College. On April 8, 1967, he married Beverly Ann Miller at the Hamar Lutheran Church. Together they had two children. He served in the Vietnam War working on Helicopters.
Some of the things he enjoyed were golf, attending NASCAR races, watching TV, especially golf, and socializing. Time spent outdoors was a favorite of his including campfires, flowers, watching and feeding the birds. He cherished time spent with his family and friends from MN, IL and FL.
LaRay was preceded in death by his parents; Alfred and Olida as well as a brother, Roger.
Surviving him are his daughters; Lisa (Dino) Olivieri of Moorhead and Heidi Miller of Steamboat Springs, CO, 5 grandchildren; Roman (Heather) Olivieri, Kendra Olivieri, Mayana, Nyle and Orion Gibbs along with a long-time friend, Lola Helm.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the Olson Funeral Home
Services: 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Fergus Falls
