LaRae Mardella Jensen, 70, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, January 11, 2016, at her home.
LaRae was born on April 19, 1945, to Selmer and Margaret (Soliah) Severson in Fergus Falls. She grew up in Fergus Falls and graduated from Fergus Falls High School. After high school, she attended and graduated from cosmetology school in Fergus Falls.
She loved her family and the time she spent with them. She enjoyed her afternoon drives with her dogs out to Pebble Beach. She loved shopping for anything, including her love for snowmen, wolves and shoes. She also enjoyed spending time and going out to eat with her cousins, Sharon, Diane and Paul and her best friend Lynda.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Jensen; her parents, Selmer and Margaret Severson; and a brother, Berdell Severson.
LaRae is survived by her three children, Randy Swendsrud of Fergus Falls, Mindy (Jason) Ott of Barnesville and Rick (Kris) Swendsrud of Fergus Falls; her six grandchildren, Lacey (Chris) Julsrud of Moorhead, Creed Ott of Duluth, Haili (Kurt) Hovland of Barnesville, Hannah and Abby Swendsrud of Fergus Falls and Caleb Ott of Barnesville; two great-grandchildren, Raegan Julsrud of Moorhead and Haven Hovland of Barnesville; her dogs, Zeus and Tank; her aunts, Lillian Halvorson, Carrie Ann McKlenberg and Joyce (Jim) Stock; her nieces, Marti Severson and Melissa Patrick; her best friend, Lynda Eklund and her daughter, Sara Eklund; and numerous cousins.
A public memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
